Wharton Innovation & Design together with the MBA Career Management has developed relationships with several companies that can offer exciting internship and full-time opportunities. Last year, students interned at IDEO, frog design, Smart Design, co:collective, MKThink and Capital One Labs; our alumni can be found at firms like Smart Design, Speck Design, Fahrenheit 212, and co:collective.
Wharton Design will also run career treks in SF and NY this year to meet with executives and alumni from many of the companies below. Last year's trek to NYC was in March and included SY Partners, IBMix, Fjord, and Fahrenheit 212.
- Innovation Consultancies (i.e. Farenheit212) try to create new ideas that become new products and services. They help with new product and service discovery, refinement and identification.
- Brand Consultancies (i.e. Lippincott) work closely with marketing and advertising departments to help a brand grow or evolve
- Digital Consultancies (i.e. razorfish) work with companies to maximize the business benefits of digital initiatives. Create new digital products (websites and apps) and immersive, digitally enabled retail experiences.
- Companies within industry (i.e. Fortune 5000) have begun to invest in separate innovation groups or incubators to foster creative thinking to solve business problems.
If there are specific companies you would like us to help you get in touch with, we would be happy to help. Also, if you have ideas for types of opportunities the Career VP's can explore, please let us know.
